On September 12, 2011, One Voice Minnesota members and community advocates joined for a full day gathering, which consisted of fact-finding updates, presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities in immigration advocacy across Minnesota.

The discussion was focused on the following goals: (1) to build and strengthen relationships between OVM members (2) to encourage collaboration and communication on immigration-related issues across the state, (3) share member experiences to help increase network knowledge of successful practices in immigration integration and building ‘welcoming communities’, (4) provide training and collective discussion on key community issues identified by OVM members, (5) create a strategic vision for the network and identify how each member’s unique role supports the overall goal of building Minnesota’s welcoming communities across the state.
