Direct students to the Immigrant Stories page and allow them to choose stories to read and then take the quizzes. Estimate approximately 10 minutes per story.
Activity 2: Small groups
Print the stories and make enough copies so that each student gets one of the stories. Allow students time to read their story. Assign students to groups of 5 so that each group consists of a student who has read each story. Instruct the students to answer aloud the questions on the worksheet titled "Immigrants to Minnesota - re-telling their stories" from the point of view of the immigrant in the story that they have read. After answering the questions the group should respond in writing to Part 2 on the same worksheet.
