2007 Yearbook of Immigration Statistics (September, 2008). A publication by the Department of Homeland Security which provides data on foreign nationals and on immigration law enforcement actions like apprehensions, removals, and prosecutions.

Actual Immigration to the United States: The Real Numbers (May, 2007). The Migration Policy Institute has created a report that explains that while official figures show annual permanent immigration to the United States averaging about 1 million a year, in reality, actual annual immigration to the United States is about 1.8 million people.

Unauthorized Aliens in the United States:  Estimates Since 1986 (Updated January, 2007). Ruth Ellen Wasem. Congressional Research Service.  The report highlights push and pull factors contributing to the increase in the undocumented population, border control policies that have impacted the flow of migrant workers, and backlogs in the petition process.

U.S. Census (2001). U.S. Census Bureau. This report focuses on statistics on foreign-born residents from the 2000 census.
