After students have seen the Children's Theater Production of the Lost Boys of Sudan, provide them with a local connection. The following activities will allow them to understand more about the refugees who have resettled in Minnesota, the process of becoming a refugee, and how individually or as a class they can take action to welcome refugees to their school and community.
Understanding Refugees - A Power Point Download a Power Point program to educate students about refugees to the U.S. and Minnesota, their journeys, and the policies that protect and impact them.Links to Refugee Sending Countries Refugees leave nations where they have faced persecution or have a well-founded fear of persecution. Learn about the conflicts occuring in several of the nations from which the United States and Minnesota receive large numbers of refugees.
