Immigration Legislation
The Advocates for Human Rights supports immigration laws which meet international human rights standards including due process, freedom from arbitrary detention, respect for the unity of the family, protection of refugees, and protection of workers. The Advocates for Human Rights monitors immigration-related legislation in Minnesota and the U.S. and advocates for the full enjoyment of internationally recognized human rights for everyone in the United States.

The Advocates for Human Rights is committed to humane reform of the United States' immigration detention and enforcement system and to the creation of just and fair immigration policies which respect the inherent dignity of every person.

Through leadership in the Detention Watch Network and partnership with Rights Working Group we work in national coalition with organizations and individuals to educate the public and policy makers about the U.S. immigration detention and deportation system and advocate for humane reform so that all who come to our shores receive fair and humane treatment.
