An Individual Response

Reflect on one or both of the following questions:

  1. How has your community benefitted from immigration?
  2. What makes a welcoming community?

Then submit your response(s) in writing or visual art to The Advocatesuman Rights.  You may enter written and artistic responses to each question but multiple submissions to the same category will not be accepted.

Excellent submissions will be chosen for display on the Energy of a Nation website.

Rules for a written response:

  1. Respond to one or both questions. 
  2. Limit your response to 500 words.
  3. Enter directly online (see below) or mail your response. Teachers may choose to mail all of the students' submissions together.
  4. For mailed responses, please include the student's name, grade, school, teacher's name, school phone number, and email contact.

  5. For online responses, the following links will take you to a form that will ask you for the student's name, grade, school, teacher's name, school phone number, and contact email.  Then it will give you a space to type your response.  Please limit the response to 500 words.  Students may only enter a written response one time for each question.

  1. Choose either or both questions.  Students may only enter an artistic entry one time for each question.
  2. An artistic entry should be on a letter sized piece of paper.  It can be a drawing, cartoon, collage, painting, or other creative illlustration.
  3. For mailed responses, please include the student's name, grade, school, teacher's name, school phone number, and contact email. 
  4. Please mail entries to:
